Suppressing an issue in the hope that it will go away by itself is a common strategy for dealing with challenging and unpleasant realities. Sometimes, it works, but clearly not in the case of Israel and Palestine. The decades-long procrastination in terms of addressing the problem in an authentic and meaningful way has led to such an accumulation of rage and hatred that the status quo can no longer be contained. Is there still a peaceful way out?
